DETAILS
Starting on August 2nd, Green Michigan will offer a compost drop-off program at the Muskegon Farmers Market from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturdays. This is a three-month trial to gain insight and interest on how best to serve Muskegon residents, businesses, and organizations. If successful, the program will expand.
See the attached flyer for items that can be brought to the market for composting. Unlike backyard composting, items like meat, dairy, and bones can be composted with us. By recycling and composting, you can significantly reduce landfill waste.
COSTS
Green Michigan is a West Michigan based nonprofit, and pricing is kept low to help cover costs and reduce any barriers to participation. Volunteer shifts are also available, and one 3-hour shift covers composting costs for the month.
HOUSEHOLDS
- SINGLE DROP OFF - $3 a visit (up to two 5-gallon buckets)
- MONTHLY COMPOSTING - $10 a month (unlimited)
